Why not a cheaper filter?

Does it soften hard water?
A little, not a lot. There is a small ion-exchange resin layer that grabs some hardness minerals, strongest while the cartridge is fresh. It is not a whole-house softener, and no filter that fits on a shower arm is. What lasts all four months is the scale-inhibitor layer: it slows new limescale on your shower head and glass. And it takes out the chlorine.
Will it fit my shower?
US shower arms use a standard ½-inch NPT thread. If your head unscrews by hand, the filter goes between arm and head. Ceiling rainfall: email us before ordering.
How does the plan work?

Does the water pressure change?

How do I know what's in my water?
